# ... substitute a recipe in the plan?

Planter lets you substitute any recipe in the plan with another one that contains the same food groups, in the same proportions. So, don’t worry, your daily plan will still be balanced.
To substitute a recipe, select the double arrow symbol next to the relevant recipe, select the "Substitute recipe" option and then, the family members of the plan to substitute the recipe for. Planter will show you all the recommended alternatives.
You can search for a recipe by name or apply the filters listed at the top right.
The shopping list will be changed to match the plan in real time.
